Ilford Pop Up Green market takes a break after 2 years and a bit
We are very proud to have run this monthly market and hub, originally in partnership with Sophia Hubs, and alongside our hosts, Ilford Recycles and the Salvation Army.
Here’s some of our achievements:
Given an opportunity for a free stall to over 25 local crafts/green stalls,
Brought in new clients and contacts for Ilford Recycles (the bike shop and servicing is still open on the 2nd Saturday)
Given an opportunity and platform for 15+ local people to share their skills or knowledge in informal skills shares,
Sold 500+ healthy meals/home-made cakes
Involved 15 community cooks
Worked with 25 volunteers
More recently, mended 10 electrical appliances
Partnered with Restart Party, Vision, Give or Take stall
And…
Created a community green hub and community spirit in the heart of Ilford and a list of 120 people who want to stay in touch with us. 🙂
Here’s our video of our final market and hub. We are thinking what to do next and build on the green hub we have created. We are looking for premises. And ideas. And partners. In the meantime we are planning THE ILFORD FOOD FEST, 29 SEPTEMBER 12-3. If you want to go on our mailing email ilfordtransition@gmail.com or text ‘green’ to 07957 534908
